The Problem

Getting 12 testers to show up
every day for 14 days is brutal.

Google Play's closed testing requirement sounds simple. In practice, most developers lose weeks trying to meet it on their own.

Problem 1

One dropout. Day 1. Again.

Google counts 14 consecutive days with 12 active testers simultaneously. One friend stops opening your app on Day 8 — your timer resets. You lose everything and start from zero.

Friend dropped out Day 8 — timer reset to Day 1

Google doesn't notify you when your timer resets. Most developers only find out when they apply for production access and see their eligibility date hasn't moved.

Problem 2

Emulators flag your account.

BlueStacks and bot scripts trigger Google Play Protect. It is not just wasted effort — it puts a warning on the developer account you worked hard to build.

Problem 3

Generic answers get rejected.

Google asks specifically how bugs were found and how tester feedback changed your app. Developers who ran a fake test have nothing real to write. Review denied.

The Fix

12Testers handles all three.

  • 12 real testers — committed for the full 14 days
  • Physical Android devices only, zero emulators
  • Questionnaire guidance included with every order

The Actual Requirement

The four requirements
most developers miss.

Google's policy is clear — but easy to misread. Here's what your account actually needs before the production access button unlocks.

Account type matters

Applies after Nov 13, 2023 only

This requirement is for personal developer accounts created after 13 November 2023. Organization accounts and older personal accounts are fully exempt.

Simultaneous, not cumulative

12 testers simultaneously

At least 12 unique testers must be opted in at the same time — not 12 total over the testing period, but 12 active and present together throughout.

Consecutive, not scattered

14 consecutive days — immediately before

The 12 testers must be continuously opted in for the 14 days directly before you apply. If the count drops below 12 at any point, the window does not count.

Testing ≠ automatic approval

You apply separately after

Completing the test does not automatically grant production access. Once your 14 days are done, you submit a separate application through Google Play Console.

One thing worth knowing

12 testers is the real minimum — not a number some services quietly inflate. If a provider offers 14 or 20 testers “for safety”, that is protection against dropouts, not a hidden Google requirement. We give you exactly 12, committed for the full window.

Verify it in Play Console yourself

Every one of our testers shows up in your Google Play Console tester list the moment they opt in. You see the count — you don't have to trust us.

Real device brands — not one repeated model

Your Console analytics will show Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, and more — different manufacturers and Android versions. No single repeated device identifier that signals emulation.

14 days logged individually

Your progress dashboard shows each of the 14 days separately — not a single final status. You see exactly when each tester was active each day, which is the data Google asks for in the questionnaire.

If your personal Google Play developer account was created after 13 November 2023, Google requires at least 12 unique testers opted in continuously for the 14 days immediately before you apply for production access. If the count drops below 12 at any point — even for one day — the window does not count and must restart. Organization accounts and accounts created before that date are fully exempt.
